10 Minutes To Happiness

The other day I was thinking of things to write in my journal to cheer me up, and this idea struck me. I thought I would share with you because we can never have too much happiness in our lives!

Take 10 minutes out of your regular routine. Sit down and write a letter to somebody you appreciate. Perhaps a friend or relative or teacher. Don’t overthink it. Just say what you feel and tell them how much they mean to you. Giving a random letter to somebody will surely make them smile! And not only will they smile but YOU will feel happy too!

I was really depressed earlier this year and I found that having a “happiness journal” really helped me. At the end of the day I would think back over the day and think about everything that made me happy- both big and small. I would list things like I went to my favorite restaurant, I saw something funny online, it was warm today, or my favorite show was back on tv. This helped me see everything good that happened that day and when I went back to look at the week I would smile as I remembered everything and see all the reasons I have to be happy.
